There is no checkout, online payment facility or paid subscription on this website. An enquiry or portal project request does not place an order or create a contract for paid work.
1. About Starling.dev
STARLING.DEV LTD, trading as Starling.dev. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17554849. Business correspondence: 5 Wells Road, Ilkley, United Kingdom. Email: info@starlingdev.site.
These terms explain use of our website and client portal. They do not replace a separately agreed quotation, statement of work or service agreement.
2. Enquiries and separate project agreements
Our website introduces website development, business software and related services. Contacting us, downloading a brief, signing in or submitting a project request does not commit either party to a project or require a payment.
Before work begins, the project scope, deliverables, price in pounds sterling, any applicable taxes, timescales, responsibilities, support, intellectual-property arrangements, cancellation terms and payment arrangements must be set out and agreed separately in writing. Any payment for agreed work is arranged separately; this website does not collect it. A portal value, draft document or progress status is not by itself acceptance of a quotation or a request for card details.
3. Using the website
Use the website lawfully and provide accurate information when making a request. Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person or upload content that is unlawful or infringes another person's rights. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or protect the service, taking account of any separate project agreement and your legal rights.
4. Client portal
The portal provides authorised clients with access to assigned project information, messages and documents. You must be authorised to act for the relevant customer and keep your sign-in account secure. You may access only records you are entitled to see. Tell us promptly if information has been assigned incorrectly or you suspect an account security problem.
You remain responsible for the accuracy of material you supply and for having permission to share it. Retain your own copies of important documents. Do not use the portal as your only backup or to store unrelated sensitive information. Uploading material gives us permission to store and use it to respond to your request and deliver, administer and support the project; it does not transfer ownership of your material to us.
5. Website content, examples and third-party links
Descriptions and portfolio examples illustrate our work or possible solutions. Dashboard illustrations use sample figures and are not live client financial records, performance promises or a guarantee of results. Features, third-party integrations and support depend on the separately agreed scope.
We take reasonable care over website information, but it may change or become out of date. Website content is general information, not legal, tax, accounting or other regulated advice. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; their terms and privacy notices apply when you use them.
6. Intellectual property
Website text, designs, branding and other materials are owned by Starling.dev or used with permission, except where otherwise identified. You may view and print reasonable extracts for your own information, preserving any copyright notices. You must not republish our materials commercially or imply our endorsement without permission. Third-party names and logos belong to their respective owners. Rights in commissioned software or designs are governed by the separate project agreement.
7. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the website available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, faults or events beyond our reasonable control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access, a particular search ranking, revenue or business outcome.
We are responsible for loss or damage to the extent required by applicable law and any relevant project agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights.
8. Consumers and cancellation rights
If you engage us as a consumer rather than for business purposes, applicable consumer protections still apply. Not taking payments on this website does not remove rights that may apply to a service contract agreed by email, telephone or another distance method. Before any such contract, we will provide the required service, price and cancellation information. Any request to begin work during a statutory cancellation period must be dealt with in the separate agreement in accordance with applicable law.
9. Privacy and browser storage
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Our Cookies & browser storage notice explains optional analytics and necessary service storage. Using the website does not automatically consent you to analytics or marketing.
10. Questions and complaints
Email info@starlingdev.site with the subject “Complaint”, describing the issue and any relevant project reference. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. These terms do not prevent you from exercising a legal right or contacting an appropriate regulator or advice service.
11. Governing law and changes
These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. For business users, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. A consumer keeps any mandatory protection and right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where they live.
We may update these terms for future website use. Changes do not retrospectively vary a separately agreed project contract or remove rights that have already arisen. The date below identifies this version. You can save or print these terms using your browser.
